My on-campus involvements at Howard University showcase a diverse and impactful range of contributions to the university community. Below I list a few of my contributions in my organizations. Such as serving as the Director of Communications for the College of Arts and Sciences Student Council that highlight my leadership and communication skills, as I play a crucial role in shaping and disseminating information within the student council. Being an Active Member of the Howard University Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International underlines my commitment to legal education and allows me to engage with like-minded peers, fostering a deeper understanding of the legal profession. Each of these roles not only speaks to my versatility but also showcases my active participation in enhancing the university experience and leadership skills.
College of Arts and Science Student Council, Director of Communications
Since assuming the position of Director of Communications in July 2023, I have led a team of 23 talented individuals dedicated to enhancing communication within the College of Arts and Sciences Student Council. Our dynamic approach involves posting 3-4 graphics each week, along with event recap videos, attending all events hosted by the student council, and trivia question-and-answer videos, fostering active engagement with Howard University students. The communications department is the face of the student council, it is imperative that I maintain an active presence on our social media page, promptly responding to direct messages, and consistently sharing compelling content that keeps our peers engaged. Our efforts have garnered significant attention, with our graphics regularly receiving over 500 likes and video recaps surpassing 5,800 views. In my role, I prioritize accountability, ensuring the smooth operation of the team to achieve successful outcomes and uphold the council's commitment to effective communication and student engagement.
HBCU Imprint, Incorporated, Chief Ambassador
In my current role as the Chief Ambassador of the Howard Branch of HBCU Imprint, Incorporated, I proudly continue my involvement in this organization, having been a member since my freshman year at Howard University of 2021. As Chief Ambassador, my primary mission is to offer resources to first-generation students, by providing them with valuable information and guidance throughout their college journey. While HBCU Imprint, Incorporated is not currently programming for the Fall 2023-2024 term, we plan to resume our impactful programming in the following academic year of Fall 2024. In my capacity as Chief Ambassador, my various responsibilities I uphold, includes managing the organization's social media account. This involves responding to direct messages, crafting and posting graphics, and reposting beneficial resources for Howard students on our Instagram story. In assisting with the educational support for my fellow peers, I create a monthly list of 20 scholarships, and I maintain our social media engagement through a monthly newsletter that delivers updates and keeps my fellow peers informed. Notably, I recently posted a video on HBCU Imprint, Incorporated's social media account featuring first-generation students and the current president of Howard University. The purpose of this video was to acknowledge the first generation students on National First-Generation Day (November 8, 2023). This video, highlighting the experiences of these students, it garnered over 7,000 views, furthering our mission of supporting and amplifying the voices of the first-generation community.
Howard University Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International
Being an active member of the Howard University Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International has been an immensely fulfilling and enriching experience for me. Since joining this distinguished organization, I have immersed myself in various activities and responsibilities that have not only contributed to my personal growth but have also allowed me to actively engage with the legal community on campus. Attending events organized by the fraternity has provided me with invaluable insights into the legal profession, fostering an environment of learning beyond the confines of the classroom. My contribution within the organization I bring a visual representation of our chapter. This includes not only assisting with the development of eye-catching graphics for our social media platforms but also playing a pivotal role in the creation of our new website, that serves as a dynamic and informative resource for our members, Howard alumni, and the broader Howard University community. The collaborative spirit within Phi Alpha Delta has not only allowed me to refine my organizational and leadership skills but has also deepened my appreciation for the legal fraternity's commitment to fostering a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment. As I reflect on my journey within this esteemed organization, I am grateful for the friendships, the knowledge gained, and the meaningful impact we collectively strive to make within the realm of pre-law education at Howard University.
